What’s new with Pectra?

Pectra rolls out 11 new Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), all designed to boost scalability and improve the experience on Ethereum.

Here’s what’s inside:

1. Account Abstraction (EIP-7702): Wallets now act more like smart contracts, letting you batch actions and even pay gas with third parties.

2. Higher Staking Limits (EIP-7251): Max validator balance jumps from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH → streamlining staking ops.

3. More Blob Capacity (EIP-7691): Throughput doubles → Layer 2 transactions get cheaper and more efficient.

4. Faster Validator Activation (EIP-6110): Onboarding new validators drops from 12 hours to just 13 minutes.

5. Historical Block Storage (EIP-2935): Smarter contract capabilities and better cross-layer communication.

Plus a handful of smaller tweaks and optimizations under the hood.

What’s next? Moon or meh?

Ethereum just became faster, cheaper, and more dev friendly. But the market hasn’t reacted (yet): ETH price is still quiet.

With stronger infrastructure now in place, the big question remains: Will this cycle send ETH higher, or will it stay mid while other chains steal the spotlight?
